Fasting and Prayer Guide
DAY 5
October 16, 2009
Day 5 - Friday
"And forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us."
Through the week, you have been fasting and praising, thanking and asking, but today is when you do some house cleaning. This is time to reflect not only on the "sin that so easily besets you" but on those things you have failed to ask forgiveness for and the things you have yet to forgive.
We often times want the forgiveness from others, and we especially want God's forgiveness, but often times we fail to extend that same forgiveness to those who have hurt us deeply. Now is the time to look at those "issues" as God would and work through them. Sometimes we carry offenses that were never ours to pick-up and therefore we can't get overthem. Time to let them GO. It's also time to let people go and forgive them for past hurts. The past is gone and can never be changed. If you let it rule you then you are defeated. Lay it down. Even if you can't find the person, tell God you have forgiven them. Praise Him that the hurt is not as powerful as His love and His ability to heal your wonded heart.
Lay it down; let it go and walk away for good!
